Frequently Asked Questions

When your baby outgrows the infant seat — typically when they hit the height or weight limit (35 lbs / 32") or their head gets within 1" of the top of the carrier shell. Most babies move to a convertible seat between 9 and 18 months.

Rear-facing: 14–50 lbs. Forward-facing: 25–65 lbs. The high rear-facing weight limit means most kids can stay rear-facing well past age 2, which is what the AAP recommends.

Yes. The Rove is FAA-certified and weighs 25.2 lbs, on the lighter end for a convertible seat. The FAA approval label is on the bottom of the base.

Yes. The lower seat cushion has a zipper design so you can pull the cover off for washing without uninstalling the seat from the car. Helpful when potty training accidents happen.

Yes. Satara Home & Baby is an authorized UPPAbaby retailer, which means every product we sell comes with a valid manufacturer warranty and counts for product registration. Buying from unauthorized resellers (often on Amazon or eBay) can void your warranty.

Yes. The Rove is GREENGUARD Gold certified and uses fire-retardant-free fabrics and foam throughout. The PureTech merino wool option adds temperature regulation.

The Rove has a 10-year expiration date stamped on the base. With the rear-facing-to-65-lbs forward-facing range, most kids will outgrow it before that timer matters.

Both. The Rove uses UPPAbaby’s QuickGuard installation with three-step spring-loaded lock-off doors that secure the vehicle belt without needing the Automatic Locking Retracting System. The SmartSecure tension indicator turns from red to green when the install is tight.

The Mesa V3 is easier to install and clicks directly to UPPAbaby strollers. The Nuna PIPA RX has rigid LATCH connectors and a slightly different safety profile. They’re both excellent, and the right answer depends on which stroller you’re pairing it with. Full breakdown: UPPAbaby vs Nuna.

Most families start with the Mesa or Aria infant seat from birth and switch to the Rove convertible around 9–18 months. The infant seats are easier to carry baby in and out of the car as a sleeping carrier; the Rove stays installed in the car and grows with your child to age 4 or beyond. You don’t need both at once, but you’ll likely own both over time.

Register at uppababy.com under the support section. Registration is required to activate the extended warranty (within 3 months of purchase) and to receive recall notifications. UPPAbaby will need your purchase receipt from an authorized retailer like Satara.

UPPAbaby strollers come with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturer defects. Extended warranties are available with product registration. Car seats have a separate warranty period that varies by model. Check the product manual or uppababy.com for specifics.
